Wallington Ward Refurbishment

IBA were commissioned to produce design and construction information for conversion of an existing Daycare Centre for the elderly to an In-Patient Ward at Newcastle General Hospital.

The project was delivered by an NEC form of contract and was a success despite many difficulties encountered due to the age and nature of the existing building fabric.

Works included new extensions, roofing, full replacement of finishes, asbestos removal and a complete M&E refit.
