Paul Williams
B.A.(Hons) Dip Arch RIBA – Managing Director
Paul studied at Manchester University, following which he worked for a city centre practice, reaching Associate level in the practice, whilst gaining considerable experience in social housing and specialist needs as well as commercial projects.
In 1997, Paul relocated to the North East to join the expanding practice of Stewart & Southern rebranding as Ian Belsham Associates in 2000 and became a Director in 2003. Driving the practice forward Paul became Managing Director in 2014.
Paul has a wealth of knowledge and experience across all sectors and oversees the company’s direction and strategy and ensures that the design output form IBA Architects is of a consistently high standard.
Steve Kendall
MCIAT – Director
Steve is a Director of the practice and a project leader responsible for managing individual projects from inception to completion.
Steve has a great deal of experience in managing projects from the Clients brief right through to Completion that includes the preparation of feasibility schemes, tender documentation and production information together with contract administration of projects during the construction phase. He has experience in traditional procurement projects as well as design and build and project management contracts.
Steve has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industrial, health and commercial sectors having been responsible for the delivery of a number of new and refurbishment projects.
Steve has delivered projects to a BREEAM ‘very good’ standard and possesses a good knowledge of the CDM regulations understanding his responsibility as a designer.
Drew Mills
B.A.(Hons) Dip Arch – Associate
Drew joined IBA after completion of his PG Diploma. He previously worked in London, for ATP Group, where he participated in a number of projects, at all stages of planning and construction, ranging from education and religious buildings to both large and small scale residential developments.
Projects at IBA have included, from scheme inception to completion, industrial and office buildings, education facilities (including Dame Allan’s Junior School and The Reece Technical Block, St. Cuthbert’s Catholic High School), healthcare and residential.
As well as his architectural duties, Drew is responsible for producing a series of computer-generated visualisations within the office ranging from still images for client / planning approval purposes to “fly-by” and “walk-through” animations.
Drew is passionate about innovative design solutions, construction techniques and modern construction documentation and is leading IBA’s transition to BIM.
Skills include architectural design, contract administration, BIM in Revit, 3d computer graphics & animation and AutoCAD (in which he tutored at the University of Greenwich).
Christine Maynard
Practice Manager
Christine is responsible for the office administration and is the first point of contact for telephone calls and visitors to the office and ensuring clients receive a warm welcome. She joined the practice in 2007.
