ITV West Country

Media

We were appointed as architects for the creation of ITV’s new studio and gallery in Bristol, forming the heart of the refreshed ITV West Country newsroom. The project brought together a fully modernised broadcast studio, an advanced production gallery, and a reconfigured newsroom designed to support fast‑paced regional news operations.

The scheme was delivered within an existing building that presented several technical and spatial challenges, including restricted ceiling heights and complex structural limitations. Working closely with ITV, the wider design team, and the contractor, we developed innovative architectural and coordination solutions to ensure the studio and gallery met ITV’s demanding technical and acoustic requirements without compromise.

A key aspect of the project was the seamless integration of ITV’s specialist technical fit‑out with the main construction works. We coordinated closely with ITV’s engineering and broadcast teams to ensure that lighting grids, camera positions, acoustic treatments, control systems, and gallery infrastructure were fully aligned with the architectural design and programme.

Despite a tight programme, the project was completed on schedule and within budget. Our collaborative approach, combined with clear communication and early technical coordination, ensured a smooth delivery process and a high‑quality outcome.

The completed studio and gallery provide ITV West Country with a contemporary, efficient, and visually striking environment that supports both current and future broadcast needs. The new facilities enhance production capability, improve workflow, and create a vibrant newsroom at the centre of ITV’s regional operations.
