The Bradbury Centre

Health // Newcastle upon Tyne

The Bradbury Centre, for the Dementia Care Partnership (DCP), provides new offices, day care facilities and a respite centre under one roof. The flagship development for DCP, the largest specialist dementia service provider in Newcastle upon Tyne, it is the first such centre in the UK.

DCP required facilities which enabled them to focus on the needs of whole families not just the person with an illness or disability. The respite centre provides accommodation for clients to spend up to two weeks away from home in the care of trained nursing staff and assisted bathing facilities. The day care facilities provide a large activity room, quiet lounge, sewing area, joinery shop, IT room as well as dining facilities.

The building was opened by Her Grace the Duchess of Northumberland in November 2005.
