For this project, our client sought a refurbishment of their reception area to create a space that feels both visually interesting and inviting, while still projecting a professional corporate image. Our design approach focused on blending warmth and simplicity with subtle sophistication.

We used exposed timber and a palette of earthy shades to establish a welcoming atmosphere, with a biophilic deisgn. Yet, these materials also served as visual cues, subtly delineating key areas such as the reception desk and waiting areas without the need for excessive signage.

To enhance the spatial experience, we introduced thresholds within the design —most notably through dropped ceilings and feature lighting. These elements help to define and reduce the scale of the waiting area and reception, creating a more intimate and comfortable ambience, reminiscent of reading nooks or cosy cafés. The result is a refined yet approachable space that supports both the functionality of a reception area and the emotional wellbeing of people using the space on a day to day basis.
